The word Precious stems from the Latin noun pretium, meaning "price, value," signifying something of great worth or high esteem.
Precious forms a new departure in Myra Jago’s contemporary practice, bringing together and building on works in her Earth Series and US Series of silky fabric oil paintings and sculptural forms, all united by an interest in human connection and affinity. Through subtle tonal fields and surfaces, the works invite reflection on vulnerability, empathy, and the shared human experience.
